B.M. Instrumental Music Education, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Jeremy Womack is a 2004 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Instrumental Music Education. While at UTC, Mr. Womack held principal chair appointments in every major ensemble on trumpet and was a member of Collegiate Music Educators National Conference, Mortar Board, Golden Key International Honors Society and the Alpha Society. Mr. Womack also spent a summer in the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps based in Rockford, Illinois. Before coming to Boyd Buchanan School, Mr. Womack was the director of bands at Lookout Valley Middle and High School in Chattanooga. Since coming to Boyd-Buchanan the bands have received superior ratings in both marching and concert band. Mr. Womack is a member of Music Educators National Conference, Tennessee Music Educators Association, and East Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association.  He has also served as both a show coordinator and adjudicator for the US Scholastic Band Association (USSBA).

11th and 12th Grade Bible

In this course, we will focus on the books of Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus & Philemon.  We will attempt to not only learn what these books teach but also how to apply it to our lives and how God wants it to transform our lives.  The ultimate goal of our study and application of these books is to develop more completely into the image of Jesus Christ.

9th and 10th Grade Bible

In this course we will be studying a survey of the Old Testament.  Our goal in a survey class is briefly cover as many topics in the Old Testament as possible.  This survey will include character studies, thematic studies and historical studies.  Our overall goal this year is to find ways we can integrate concepts from the Old Testament into our lives and discuss how the stories in the Old Testament lead us to understand the New Testament more clearly.

Concert Band

This class is designed to give students the opportunity to use their developing music skills in a group environment. Emphasis is placed on group technique as well as individual improvement and performance. The band provides a musical performing organization for school athletics and other school activities, as well as local and out-of-town band contests.

Middle School Band

Students continue to build individual skills in reading music and performing on their instrument through the study of modern band music in a large group setting.

Sixth Grade Band

Students learn the basics of reading music and performing on an instrument through the study of modern beginning band music.
