About Boyd Buchanan School
A Message from the Head of School
President Jill C. Hartness (’86)
Welcome to Boyd Buchanan School and thank you for taking the time to visit us as you consider BBS for your child’s education. As a parent, you have the responsibility of choosing a school to partner with you in raising your child and we recognize the gravity of that decision.
For over 68 years, God has had His hand on Boyd Buchanan School as we hold true to our mission of offering a loving, Christ-centered environment fully nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical potential of each student. Boyd Buchanan is a rare & special place for preparing students to walk with the Master and embrace life’s challenges with joy, courage, and wisdom.
Our purpose is to not just inform students but work in partnership with families and most of all, the Lord, to help transform them into the likeness of Christ.
We offer a distinctively Christian education that sets us apart from other independent or public schools. Our goal is for every child to know and be known, investing in our students and creating an environment that promotes truth, ignites a passion for learning, and develops a heart for serving others. These unique differences explain why our students consistently go on to attend the best colleges and universities, taking with them a spiritual framework that is foundational as they move forward in life.
I invite you to explore our website but, even more importantly, to visit our campus and see our students and faculty in action. They are remarkable and can tell you in their own eloquent words why BBS means so much to them. I hope I have the opportunity to meet you soon.
Trusting God to use our efforts for His glory,
Jill C. Hartness
