SEPTEMBER 27, 2017
“Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking.”
From the Principal
This week Boyd Buchanan School celebrates 65 years as a “rare and special place!” Friends and families will return to our campus in honor of our school – past and present. A Homecoming parade will make its way through the Elementary building on Friday afternoon. Alumni events will be held in Roland Hall prior to the game. Senior Class/Homecoming Court presentations will begin at 6:00PM on Boyd Field. The BBS/CCS football game starts at 7:30. We pray that God continues to bless our mission!
October 20 is the deadline for our first Box Tops competition. The winning class will enjoy an ice cream party! (We will be collecting Box Tops throughout the year. Please continue to send them in every week even after the deadline for the party. We will have two more class competitions and parties.)
October 30 – November 3
Mon., Tues., Wed.: 7:45 – 3:15
Thursday: 7:45 – 6:00
Friday: 7:45 – 12:00
Annual Fund + You
Currently, our entire BBS school is participating in the “Annual Fund + You” campaign. All families have been asked to support our mission with a financial gift – large or small. The school is hoping for 100% participation! May God continue to bless our BBS family. If you have any questions, please contact Chad Wortman at email@example.com.
The Boyd Buchanan Parent Council facilitates two major fundraisers each year. BUCFEST is the first event and will take place November 11 in the Elementary area. This annual fall festival will include a Marketplace, good food, inflatables, bidding baskets, and many more attractions. Each class is responsible to help with a specific game or booth. Bucfest will not happen without the help of our BBS parent volunteers. Please plan to help for at least 30 minutes. Sign-up sheets will be posted outside your child’s classroom. Thank you for your support!
SEPTEMBER SERVICE PROJECT
“Childhood Cancer Awareness Month”
Our September service opportunity is dedicated to a former student, Lana Beth Webster. Lana lost her battle with neuroblastoma while a part of the BBS family. Please allow your child to bring change or let your child earn $1 to donate to Lana’s Love Foundation (www.lanaslove.com). This organization helps Chattanooga-area children with cancer and their families to have fun outings. Thank you!
Cross Country Team
Congratulations to our Cross Country team for finishing the season strong! The boys team (3rd – 5th grade) came in 2nd place overall. Andrew Smith finished 1st and Asher Goodwin finished 7th overall.
