Join us for a celebration of art from our talented BBS high school students as they exhibit pieces at the AVA Gallery on Frazier Ave on December 2, 2017 – January 5, 2018. There is a student reception on Saturday, December 2nd from 6-8PM that is open to the public. Student work will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition. The cost range is $35 – $50 per piece.
With 132 pieces in this exhibit, this is Boyd Buchanan’s largest student photography show to date!
This year’s theme is ‘A Christmas Story’.
By definition a story is “a narration of the events in the life of a person or the existence of a thing, or such events as a subject for narration.” ‘Story’ is a term that is literally used on a daily basis in regard to personal history or even in areas such as social media like Instagram and Snapchat. At Christmas time, when families and friends gather to share stories, narratives of all types are discussed. This is the spirit in which fifteen Boyd Buchanan School students celebrate the holiday season by sharing pages from their life story in a diverse collection of work.
The following students contributed pieces: Meredith Balthrop, Daniel Bell, Emily Black, Christian Craig, Jax Day, Chase Floied, Nolan Floyd, Elizabeth Hall, Eden Henderson, Mackenna Hood, Sara Li, Matthew McDonald, Gracie Spencer, Luke Terrell, and Jillian Waterhouse.
Melissa Owens, BBS 9th – 12th Grade Graphic Design and Photography teacher, coordinates this event each year.
