Boyd Buchanan senior golfer Bowman Blocker signed scholarship papers on Friday to continue his golf career at Freed Hardeman University. Bowman is the son of Dale and Leeann Blocker.
Blocker is one of eight senior golfers who won the Bradley County Invitational, the Buc Classic and Division II East Region District 2 tournament and advanced to the 2018 TSSAA state golf tournament. “I am very proud of Bowman and the other seven seniors. They worked hard this year and played over 700 holes of golf in matches and practice.
Five of our eight seniors have accepted college scholarships. Blocker, Zacori Hill, Trent Cooper, and Riley Barnes have signed to play golf and Hayes Wood has signed to play soccer,” said the Boyd Buchanan golf coach, Ed Connelly.
Chris Hodges, the FHU golf coach, stated “Bowman is a terrific young man who played for an outstanding HS golf program. His experience playing with such a successful team will carry over to the collegiate game. I expect Bowman to make an immediate impact at Freed-Hardeman.”
