Bucs Pray - 40 Days of Prayer
  • Spiritual

While we don’t always understand how, God promises to show up and be present when God’s people commit to prayer. A group of people committed to prayer can change the world. Not because of the ability of the people, but because of the power of God. The Board has given us specific prompts to pray for each day, and every family, every student, every faculty member, every alumnus, and every friend is being asked to commit to praying as a community for the next 40 days.

At Boyd Buchanan Middle School, the notion of developing a healthy identity as an individual as well as a member of a community is deeply ingrained in our House System. As students progress throughout their middle school years as a member of either Chara, Tharros, Sofia, or Phileo, they explore how the core values of Joy, Courage, Wisdom and Fellowship can play a key role in their lives.

During the second week of Advent, we still hope in Christ's coming, but we begin to recognize that it may not come immediately. There is still life to be lived, and the question becomes, how do we learn to live life longing for the future while struggling with the brokenness of the moment?
