High School Art Students Win 15 Awards

Here are the results for Photographic Society of Chattanooga Youth Photography Showcase

At the awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 20th, Boyd Buchanan received 15 ribbons (including both of the Best of Show awards given at the competition), and 15 pieces were chosen to move on to the Photographic Society of America Competition. This year’s competition was among 10 schools with a total of 347 prints submitted by 92 students and 609digital images submitted by 109 students. The categories were Architecture, People / Animals, Scapes, Photojournalism, Color Photographer’s Choice or Creative, and Monochrome Photographer’s Choice or Creative in 2 divisions: Print and Digital. These pieces will be on exhibit in the Hunter Museum of American Art during the month of August.

Jillian Waterhouse – “Through the City of London” – Third Place – Architecture and “Apartment 158” – Honorable Mention – Monochrome Choice and “Into the Blue” – Honorable Mention – Color Choice and “Rolling English Countryside” – Honorable Mention – Scapes
