June 4, 2019 | Boyd Buchanan School
Join Dr. Elmore, the Boyd Buchanan faculty, and other EDUCATORS for a 4-hour learning event sure to kick-start your school year!
In the year 2000, adolescent attention spans were 12 seconds. Today, they are six seconds. Students spend the equivalent of an eight-hour day in front of screens, which makes teaching them more challenging than ever. Faculty now compete not only with Hollywood, but with YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, Instagram, and Snapchat. Do you feel it? While our content may not need changing, our pedagogy likely does. It is the job of the instructor to engage the student. If our students have not learned—we have not taught. This session is practical and research-based, comparing five generations of students and offering current best practices for communicating with Generations Y and Z.
